Grace VanderWaal performs her original song “Beautiful Thing” at a benefit concert for Valley Hospital Auxiliary’s pledge to support child and adolescent mental health, and Valley’s “Butterflies” program. Butterflies provides a team that plans and assesses needs for families caring for seriously ill children at home. (Ramapo High School auditorium, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey). Grace is a champion of those in need and continues to participate in various benefits. How many 12 year olds can write an epic love song? Only one that I know of, ever. Grace wrote Beautiful Thing for her sister Olivia, but the heartfelt emotion in Grace’s original melody and lyrics are universal to anyone who loves and cherishes another.
